Some products carry a place with them. For me, Coco Mac will always carry Kauai.
I developed Coco Mac while I was a member of the Kauai Made program in Hawaii. It became my flagship product, and I’m proud to call it Kauai’s original Reef Safe Sunscreen. Coco Mac is part of the story of Garden Isle Bath & Body: a brand that began on the island and still holds that connection close, even as my work has taken me to Minnesota.
What means the most to me is that Coco Mac is still sold on Kauai. You can find it in Hanalei at Perfect Coffee & Sundries, and in Kapaa at Aloha Gift and Souvenirs, at 4-1353 Kuhio Hwy, the location of my old storefront.
Seeing Coco Mac remain on the island where I created it feels like a little piece of home. To everyone who has discovered it on Kauai, supported my storefront over the years, or carried a bit of the Garden Isle home with you: mahalo.
